Web Developer
General Description:
A Web Developer at the Garrigan Lyman Group is a driving force in bringing highly innovative creative concepts to life on line or on the desktop. The expectations are high, but so are the rewards. A GLG Web Developer brings strong analytical skills, solution oriented development knowledge, and a collaborative attitude that seeks to enable great creative with groundbreaking technology. He or she collaborates closely with GLG Senior Developers, the GLG Creative Team, and project/account managers to translate creative vision into functional applications.
Essential Functions:
- Programming of on-line and/or desktop applications on a variety of platforms
- Provides maintenance and updates to Web sites and applications
- Build out of front end and back end rich media applications
- Implementation of tracking and measurement technology on developed applications
- Testing and QA on applications
Job Skills:
- Outstanding skills and proven expertise in server side scripting technologies (Microsoft .NET framework is required, PHP, JSP, a plus, Adobe Flash and ActionScript a huge plus)
- Proven expertise in standards compliant layouts (XHTML)
- Strong AS3 skills - OO Design, events, external resources and internal APIs
- Proven ability to work with standard graphics management packages such as Adobe Photoshop
- Knowledge of Internet protocols and their uses in application development
- Knowledge of version control concepts and collaborative development practice
- Knowledge of Internet and Intranet security standards and strategies
- Experience using 3rd Party Code Libraries
- Excellent technical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain cooperative relationships with clients and peers
- Sense of humor and ability to roll with changes and deadlines
- Excellent time management and teamwork skills
- Ability to follow technical specifications and production processes
- Thorough attention to detail
Knowledge Requirements (Education/Experience):
This position typically requires a commercial, bachelor's of art or science degree with 4+ years experience with the Microsoft .NET framework, specifically ASP.NET using C# or VB.NET (C# preferred). Knowledge of 3-D, Adobe Flash and creating data driven interfaces using ActionScript, XML and other scripting languages is a huge plus.
