TRENDS 2007
What are you broadcasting?
Garrigan Lyman sees the Internet moving toward a vision where all Web
sites eventually become like television channels, providing the sight,
sound, and emotional impact of television with the accountability of
one-to-one marketing. The technologies have exploded, and now adoption
of interactive Web or Web 2.0 has moved beyond early adopters. Today,
companies are looking to change their Web presence, moving from one-way
corporate brochure-ware to dynamic, content-rich sites that employ a
more personal approach and facilitate audience participation with the
brand. The site broadcasts may take the form of a blog, video, or audio
that can be turned into podcasts, which can then be syndicated to other
aggregator sites like YouTube, Google Video, or iTunes. RSS is being
used to maintain real-time contact with prospects and clients.
Audiences' expectations of engaging content are rising quickly. The
tone is changing, the media are changing, and, as a result, brands are
changing. What message is your site sending?
