The T-Mobile G2 with Google is the smartphone built around speed and designed to remove the barriers between people and the things they love. For T-Mobile, it’s a device the company hopes will again change how we communicate with those closest to us.
The nationwide launch was first teased by Garrigan Lyman to an eager audience with a preregistration program that included targeted email and full sharing functionality on several social networks. Soon after, an e-commerce-driven microsite with full brand identity followed, featuring an introductory positioning video built in Flash and a user interface that is both easily navigable and SEO savvy. To ensure that the G2 would shine in its web environment, the site was tested in a series of usability studies, and, of course, everything is optimized for viewing on the mobile web. Record numbers arrived, and, it would appear, the revolution lives.
