Every year, T-Mobile targets a soccer-themed campaign at its Hispanic customer base. With all eyes focused on South Africa in 2010, T-Mobile had an opportunity to raise the stakes.
Designed and developed by Garrigan Lyman, El Llamado del Futbol (“The Call of Soccer”) is a story told through a sweepstakes-driven website that strengthens ties between T-Mobile and the game of soccer. Written in Spanish, El Llamado del Futbol positions T-Mobile as a company that understands what fuels its customers’ fires. A select number of phones were featured in Flash and video with the Nokia Nuron taking center stage in a preregistration demo. As tourney time approached, El Llamdo del Futbol brought in major traffic from a growing customer segment and sent 20 lucky futbol fans to South Africa for the sporting experience of a lifetime.
